Crafting Details

This technique captures the essence of natural, scientific forces at work, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces.

Crafted Like Nothing Else

Each piece is the result of meticulous experimentation and passion, made entirely in-studio so you can experience something extraordinary.

Design

The creation process begins with pen, paper, and a wealth of ideas.

Cast

After multiple rounds of experimentation, we carefully run our castings.

Bisque

Once the castings become bone-dry we load them into the kiln and fire it up to 2,160°F.

Glaze

We dip our bisqueware into meticulously crafted glaze formulations.

Fire

The pieces are returned the kiln and fired to 2,232°F, fusing the glaze.

A Process Like No Other

Matt, the creator of Dweller Studio, has embraced a unique approach by distilling his craft to its essence and pioneering innovative glaze formulations that embody what he calls "naturally occurring art". Focusing on brass, iron, obsidian, quartz, and cobalt, he crafts his own glazes to emulate these materials at their most elemental level.

Honoring Earth's Elements

Matt says, "The ability we have as humans to freely create is one of the greatest things we could have ever asked for on this Earth; so, of course, I want to honor it." To celebrate the raw beauty of Earth's elements, he deconstructed them to their basic components and reconstructs his own interpretations.

All For Life's Simple Pleasures

With a passion for finding beauty in simplicity and quality, we craft each piece to celebrate life's small but profound experiences—whether it's the warm glow of a candle, the rustle of petals in a vase, the soothing scent of incense, or the familiar touch of your favorite bowl. Like timeless art, our creations are designed to inspire lasting moments of beauty. More than just objects, they are invitations to be present.
